With this 78-card deck I try to transfer the universe of the traveling circus and the freak show to the mystical universe of the tarot. I turn the different major and minor arcana into the protagonists of the greatest show on earth.
In my tarot, the popess is a powerful and attractive bearded woman, the pope is a strongman lifting giant dumbbells, the jack of gold is a friendly seal playing with a golden ball, the hanged man is an escape artist chained and cornered by sharks, the hermit is a tamer who jealously watches over an old Russian bear in its cage, the king of gold is the elephant man who horrifies everyone, the magician never stops being an enigmatic prestidigitator... and so on until I turn the different arcana of the tarot into the members of a mysterious and unique traveling circus where, under its protective tent, fate brings together a collection of curious characters and turns them into a family...
